Tinder Affect on NBA Player Performance on the Road
Life has never been easier for NBA players it seems.
A current general manager and former player have both made claims that NBA players are seeming to play a lot better on the road in today’s NBA, partially because of the use of dating apps, like Tinder, and social media to meet potential sexual partners, rather than staying out late in night clubs hoping to get lucky, according to Tom Haberstroh of ESPN.com
“Tinderization of the NBA” is one way of describing it according to an anonymous general manager.
“Tin-der-i-za-tion,” he told Haberstroh, “like the dating app. No need to go to the clubs all night anymore.
Although the former player stated that players prefer Instagram to Tinder, he did confirm that: “It’s absolutely true that you get at least two hours more sleep getting laid on the road today versus 15 years ago. No schmoozing. No going out to the club. No having to get something to eat after the club but before the hotel.”
It may be hard to believe, but many in the NBA are drinking and partying far less nowadays than ever before and are sleeping more as part of their training regimens. Also players prefer to not see pictures or videos of themselves from TMZ the morning after, therefore Tinder and social media will just have to do.
Now that is quite the life hack!
