James Wears Vintage Goodyear Irving Jersey in Practice
Ads are coming to NBA jerseys next year as the league continues to generate billions of dollars in profit. The Cleveland Cavaliers became the most recent team to announce plans for jersey ads.
A few days ago the franchise confirmed that they plan to wear the Akron-based Goodyear logo next season, and NBA poster boy, LeBron James took it upon himself to show off a sample during practice on Thursday in TD Gardens.

‘The Kid From Akron’ decided to pay homage to his teammate, Kyrie Irving by rocking a vintage 1964 Goodyear jersey.
Earlier in the week, the Cavaliers announced the multi-year sponsorship deal with the tire manufacturer based out of Akron, Ohio. Although there is no reported money amount that has been released to the general public, the contract is believed to be a few million dollars annually.
As of next year, Goodyear’s winged foot logo will appear on the top left side of Cavaliers jerseys.
