Curry, Under Armour Drop New Shoe for NBA Finals
The final score of Game 1 of the NBA Finals wasn’t the only thing which was note-worthy. Stephen Curry had a little surprise up his sleeve.
Curry was undergoing his usual pre-game warm-ups prior to tip off. The same dribbling drills, the same shooting routine. Only on Thursday night, one thing was different – his footwear. Curry was rocking the new Curry 4 shoes on the biggest basketball stage in the world
“We were excited to get it done for him,” said Ryan Drew, vice president and general manager of Under Armour’s global basketball business. Drew would also add that fewer than five pairs of the shoe have been created to this point.

The shoe itself seemed to have been received very well as evident on social media, a big change from the criticism which Curry took after the release of his Curry 3 shoe.
“It’s really the first shoe that Steph was involved in every step in the process from the ideation all the way through to the finished product,” Drew continued. “We met him everywhere he was to make sure he was part of everything we did.”
The new signature shoe is set to hit stores in the fall although Drew did not specify a set date or price for the shoe, but hey, at the very least, we are certain we are not waiting for the release of nursing shoe sequels!
