Andre Iguodala Planning on Launching New Show
Andre Iguodala is set to be a free agent and reports have been speculating that he will seriously ponder leaving the Golden State Warriors for a bigger role elsewhere.
But Iguodala’s free agent status has not stopped him from thinking about how to ball off the court. According to reports, Iguodala is partnering with a startup streaming news network called Cheddar and will hope to launch a brand new variety show titled ‘Evenings with Andre’.
According to Shalini Ramachandran of the Wall Street Journal, Iguodala will be interviewing a slew of different guests on his show. Guests who specialize in business, technology, sports, or even entertainment. Iguodala and Cheddar are hoping to pitch the idea to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon.
“You can assume we’ve talked to everybody, from the obvious Amazon and Netflix all the way down,” Cheddar founder Jon Steinberg said.
If neither Cheddar or ‘Iggy’ are able to find a streaming service, they will opt to use their very own platform.
The show will be shot during the NBA offseason and will not interfere with Iguodala’s NBA commitments.
