Could the ‘Chosen One’ Leave Cleveland Again?
While highly unlikely, rumours around LeBron James’ future have begun firing as the Cleveland Cavaliers fall down 0-3 in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.
James, known for leaving Cleveland at one point in the past for greener pastures in Miami is rumoured to be eying an encore exit from his hometown. With 2018 free agency looming, there have been some rumblings about the potential of James taking his talents to the west coast once his current contract with the Cavs expires.
Yesterday, Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reported that James may consider signing with the Los Angeles Lakers or the Clippers. This report referenced an article written by NBA psychic, The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski who last year revealed his belief that James may not stay in Cleveland for the remainder of his Hall of Fame career.
Jalen Rose also eluded to these rumours this week on ESPN’s First Take.
With one of his very own mansions situated in Los Angeles, Paul already in the city playing with the Clippers and very likely to re-sign with the franchise, Melo trade rumours linking him to the Clippers, and Wade potentially looking to leave Chicago either this offseason or following next year once he too becomes a free agent, who knows what is one ‘The Chosen One’s’ mind, but Cleveland may not be the first priority.
The Cavs take on the Warriors in Game 4 on their home floor tonight it what may be a series clinching night for the high-powered Warriors.
