Undefeated Raptors Earn Top Seed in NBA Summer League

The NBA Summer League in Las Vegas has gotten off to a great start for the Toronto Raptors, so much so, that the young Raps have clinched the top seed in the Summer League playoffs for the second straight season.

Behind the standout performances of sophomores Jakob Poeltl, Pascal Siakam, and Fred VanVleet, the Raptors finished Summer League play 3-0 and earned a bye in round one of the tournament.

NBA G League Finals MVP Siakam has averaged a team-high 18.3-points on 56% shooting to go along with 1.7-blocks per game, while showcasing a wider offensive skillset. VanVleet kept pace with the former first round pick, averaging 14.7-points and nearly six-assists per game.

The most impressive player for the Raptors to this point has been former ninth overall pick, Jacob Poeltl. The versatile big man has averaged 14.7-points and 10-rebound while shooting 69% from the field.

The Raptors next game is on Thursday night as they head into the tournament as favourites.
