Cavs, Celtics Complete Blockbuster Trade

Irving, Thomas Traded

Kyrie Irving, Isaiah Thomas Traded in Crazy August Blockbuster Deal

Kyrie Irving is a Celtic!

The Boston Celtics have just traded a guy who played a game for their organization a day after the death of his sister, so let’s never again question the loyalty of NBA players and professional athletes as a whole. It’s a cutthroat business and the NBA has just witnessed yet another blockbuster move of what has been a wild, epic summer.

After seemingly never-ending drama, the Cleveland Cavaliers have officially pulled the trigger on a deal revolving around Kyrie Irving. The Celtics sent the Cavs Jae Crowder, Isaiah Thomas, Ante Zizic and a first round pick that they received from the Brooklyn Nets.

It takes a lot to get the best player in the deal, and the Celtics gave up a ton to acquire the disgruntled point guard. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are all in to win. With LeBron James’ days with the franchise possibly numbered, the organization is going all in and with Thomas and Crowder now in the mix, the goal is to win one before James enters free agency next summer.

With rumours that Dwyane Wade is interested in jumping aboard the Cavaliers bandwagon once he is released by the Chicago Bulls, the Cavs will be well on their way to another NBA Finals appearance.

Meanwhile, Irving will join the Boston Celtics, who recently inked Gordon Hayward to a long-term contract. This will now be Irving’s opportunity to come out from James’ shadow.

Season opener, the Cleveland Cavaliers versus the Boston Celtics. Should be interesting to say the least!
