Giannis Antetokounmpo Looking for New Signature Shoe Deal
Currently an athlete on the Nike roster, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s current contract with the clothing giant expires in September, ultimately making him the best available free agent in terms of shoe endorsements.
New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis recently inked a seven-year, $5-million deal with Adidas last summer, which will most likely be the starting terms in any discussions that will take place with ‘Greek Freak’. Sources believe that the Milwaukee Bucks rising superstar will sign a deal worth between $7-to-10 million per year.
“The bar was set with Porzingis, in terms of financials,” says one brand source.
Both Adidas and Under Armour have shown interest in resigning Giannis, but Nike has a “match clause”, to re-sign him at whatever price tag.
“I’ve always said that I think he’s one of those guys that has the potential to transcend his market,” his agent Alex Saratsis tells ESPN. “I think he’s showing that he can do that. I think he’s one of the few players that could have a truly global appeal.”
With Antetokounmpo set to continue to grow into one of the game’s best players, the offers will definitely be aplenty for the Greek star.
