Sacramento Kings’ Zach Randolph Could Face Ban from NBA
Zach Randolph looked very confident in a TMZ video when getting released on bail after being arrested for a variety of charges, which included have possession of marijuana with the intent to sell.
Well, not so fast there!
There is no telling at this point as to the consequences Randolph will face in court, but the NBA might just come down hard on the veteran power forward. Reports suggest that Randolph may face a similar penalty as the one faced by his former teammate, O.J. Mayo, who was banned by the NBA and disqualified from the NBA in 2016 for violating the league’s anti-drug policy.
Under the league’s CBA with the players’ association, the NBA is allowed to dismiss and disqualify a player if he is to be convicted of a crime, or pleads guilty, no contest or nolo contendre, to a marijuana related crime.
Randolph ended an eight year tenure with the Memphis Grizzlies this past offseason, signing a two year deal with the Sacramento Kings.
The Kings can’t seem to catch a break.
