Kevin Durant Slams Under Armour, Stalks Tumble Immediately
When you are an NBA champion, a former League MVP, and one of the biggest superstar scorers the game has ever seen, when you say words, a whole lot of people listen.
On Tuesday, Kevin Durant jumped on a podcast and in the process took a second to slam Under Armour – the rival of the Nike brand – one that Durant is signed onto. Ironically enough, his Golden State Warriors teammate Stephen Curry is the Under Armour golden boy.
“Nobody wants to play in Under Armours. I’m sorry. The top kids don’t because they all play Nike,” Said Durant on the podcast.
That Tuesday, Under Armour immediately saw a tumble in their stock by 3%.
“I think a lot of kids, to be honest, they don’t choose Maryland unless they play in like an Under Armour system coming up,” The Maryland-native said. “Shoe companies have a real, real big influence on where these kids go.”
Who knows if Curry will respond to his teammate, but this may just instigate some friendly competition between the two.
