Vegas Odds Pits Golden State Warriors in League of Their Own
What makes sports more exciting than they already are?
Adds a tad bit more adrenaline to the equation if I can say so myself. Well, leading into the weekend, Las Vegas oddsmakers have released the over/under win totals for every NBA teams, with the Golden State Warriors head and shoulders above the rest of the league.
With a 67.5 over/under win total for the 2017-18 regular season, the Warriors are completely blowing the rest of the league out of the water. No other team is sitting above the 55.5 wins mark.
“What’s that, six championships in eight years?” Klay Thompson said on Saturday when asked if the Warriors are the closest thing the league has seen to the 1990’s Chicago Bulls. “So we’re, what, like only a third of the way there? I think it’s close. We still have a long way to go, but I do see the fandom, the fanfare like the Bulls had in the ‘90s.”
Well, it seems like Vegas is on Thompson and the Warriors’ side for at least this season.
“Every time the Bulls came to town, that was the ticket of the year.” Thompson added. “Now it’s when the Warriors come to town, that’s the must-see game. And we don’t take that for granted; that’s such a cool position to be in. We rarely play in front of a crowd that’s not sold out. That’s so special. It’s hard to really grasp that as a player. So I think it’s close. I still think we’re not on their level yet, but that’s what we aspire to be of the 2000s. We aspire to be that dynasty that will be in the minds of NBA fans forever.”
From a gambling perspective, teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves provide some great value if chosen as the 2018 NBA champions. The Warriors of course remain the safest pick, but then again, anything can happen in sports.
But seriously, who’s ready for Golden State Warriors-Cleveland Cavaliers part four?
