Utah Jazz Lose Starting Center Rudy Gobert for 4-6 Weeks
Not everyone enjoyed their weekend.
On Friday night, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert suffered a bruised lower leg injury after Miami Heat guard Dion Waiters crashed into his right leg in what appeared as a fairly dirty play. The Frenchman did not end up playing on Saturday night against the Brooklyn Nets and ended his week with a prognosis that will leave his Jazz team without their starting center for the next four-to-six weeks.
“It feels better than it looked on the video,” Gobert said after sustaining the injury, per Eric Woodyard of the Deseret News. “I think it was a dirty play, but no matter what the most important thing is to keep getting better and to win tomorrow.”
The 7’1” Gobert is averaging 13.9-points, 10.5-boards, and 2.5-blocks per game in the early goings of the 2017-18 regular season.
