LiAngelo Ball, 2 Other UCLA Players Arrested in China for Shoplifting

The third Ball brother got into a little bit of trouble this past weekend.

In order of preference, LiAngelo has just embarked on his first year as part of the UCLA Bruins basketball program. Well, this past week, UCLA flew down to China in order to play an exhibition game against Georgia Tech in Shanghai and instead of using his own money, Ball and two of his UCLA teammates were arrested for shoplifting.

Along with Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, it was first feared that Ball would face 3-10 years in Chinese prison, but now it is reported that the three Bruins could be forced to serve 20 days of house arrest and receive permanent banishment from China.

Ball, Riley and Hill are being required by Hangzhou police to remain at their hotel until the legal process is over, which could take days, weeks or even months. The hope is obviously sooner rather than later,” as per CNN.

Ball, Hill, and Riley will not suit up for UCLA on Saturday.
