Tony Parker Set to Make Season Debut on Monday Against Mavericks
The San Antonio Spurs are set to gain an extra boost as they continue their season.
Unfortunately for the Spurs it is not a boost in the form of a Kawhi Leonard, but nevertheless, San Antonio are getting one of the franchise’s biggest stars back tonight when they take on the Dallas Mavericks. Originally expected to be out until January with a torn quadriceps muscle, Tony Parker has announced that he will be returning to the hardwood tonight.
“Get ready #SpursNation, I’m coming back on tomorrow’s game against Dallas!” wrote the veteran guard, who has been out since the Western Conference Semifinals, on Facebook.
Currently sitting third in the Western Conference, the Spurs have gone 12-7 this season without the services of Parker
“I’m really excited to play again,” Said Parker. “It has been some tough months with a lot of recovery, patience and mental strength. I wanted to thank everyone who believed in my return. Fans, Family, Friends, my Recovery Team and the San Antonio Spurs, I couldn’t have done this without your support.”
The 35-year old point guard averaged 10.1-points and 4.5-assists per game last season for the Spurs.
