LaVar Ball Pulls LiAngelo Out of UCLA, Career Abroad a Possibility
Zero points, and one steal will be LiAngelo Ball’s only stat line in his career with the UCLA Bruins.
Earlier this week, the patriarch of the Big Baller Brand, LaVar Ball pulled LiAngelo out of University with the goal of training him on his own to up his value for the 2018 NBA Draft. Suspended indefinitely by the program for committing theft in China, LaVar thought it would be best for his son to leave school to focus strictly on basketball.
“We learned today of LiAngelo Ball’s intention to withdraw from UCLA. We respect the decision he and his family have made, and we wish him all the best in the future,” Said UCLA coach Steve Alford on Ball’s departure.
According to reports, there is a chance that both LiAngelo and his younger brother LaMelo are pursing opportunities to play abroad as they await Draft eligibility. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, LiAngelo will have to catch lightning in a bottle quick as very few front offices in the league have the Chino Hills-native on their mock draft boards.
