DeRozan, Lowry, Others Ready to Punch Ticket to NBA All-Star Weekend
The voting period is almost here!
With NBA All-Star Weekend live from Los Angeles, California rapidly approaching, All-Star voting will open on December 21 via the NBA App and the league’s website. Voting via other channels will launch just four days later. All-Star game starters will then be unveiled on January 18 during a TNT special.
The 67th All-Star Game itself will be played at Staples Center on Sunday February 18.
Slightly different from past years, the NBA will oversee a format change as the traditional East versus West matchup will be replaced by team rosters selected by All-Star captains. Once again, NBA media, fans, and players will all have the opportunity to place their votes.
Of course, as Canadians and proud fans of the Toronto Raptors, we must all do our part in helping our stars DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry punch their tickets to All-Star festivities. DeRozan has been leading the way for the 18-8 Raptors, averaging 23.7-points per game, while securing 4.6-boards, and a career best 5.2-assists per contest.
Meanwhile, after a slow start, Lowry has picked things up, now averaging 16.2-points, 6.2-rebounds, and seven-assists per night for the season.
Most importantly, the Toronto Raptors are winning games and as per usual, they are led by their star backcourt and they need to make the 2018 NBA All-Star Game roster!
