Minnesota Timberwolves Lose Jeff Teague Indefinitely with MCL Strain
Despite a big overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets, the Minnesota Timberwolves unfortunately could not escape last night’s nail-biter unscathed.
Jeff Teague left the game after Nuggets’ Gary Harris rolled over the point guard’s planted left leg in a scrum for the ball. Teague underwent an MRI on his knee and it was determined that he suffered a Grade 1 MCL Sprain. Teague will be sidelined indefinitely, with the belief being that he may be out for approximately a month.
Former Duke Blue Devil Tyus Jones will get extended minutes in Teague’s absence.
“As always, it’s whatever the team needs me to do,” Jones said Wednesday night. “I’m hoping Jeff is all right. You never want to see anyone go out with an injury. But it’s the next man up. I’m ready to help this team in any way.”
In 31-games this season, Teague has averaged 13.4-points and 7.3-assists per game, while shooting 44.7% from the field.
