With an 11-3 Team Record, Raptors’ Casey Named Coach of the Month
With a solid month of December in the books, Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey was named NBA’s Coach of the Month along with Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.
The Toronto Raptors compiled a conference-best 11-3 record over the past month, which included, a clean six game sweep of their home games inside the friendly confines of the Air Canada Centre. The Raptors have reeled off a franchise record 12-straight home victories. During the December stretch, the Raptors outscored by an average of 8.6-points per game, a net difference good for second in the league over that span, right behind the Warriors mark of 9.3-points.
Casey beat out Chicago Bulls’ Fred Hoidberg and Cleveland Cavaliers’ Ty Lue to claim the Coach of the Month honours. At 26-10, the Raptors currently sit second in the Eastern conference, two games up on the Cavs, and just 2.5 games behind the conference-leading Boston Celtics.
