League Suspends Serge Ibaka for 1 Game After Brawl with Heat’s Johnson
In their first game without Kyle Lowry, who suffered a tailbone bruise, the Toronto Raptors looked out of sorts.
So much so, that some emotion spilled out.
After being ejected for an altercation he had with Miami Heat’s James Johnson, Serge Ibaka will receive a one game suspension and will consequentially sit out of the Raptors upcoming bout against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The dust-up occurred during the third quarter of last night’s game, one that the Raptors eventually lost by a score of 90-89 in heart-breaking fashion.
Ibaka was not the only Raptors who got flustered during the team’s lackadaisical performance. Following the loss, DeMar DeRozan got into it with Goran Dragic, ultimately costing DeRozan $25,000 for attempting “to forcefully shove Dragic with an open hand.”
With a matchup against the Cavs coming up and Lowry’s status uncertain, it will be key for the Raps to refocus and try to get back into the win column.
