NBA Set to Double All-Star Game Bonus for Winners
In previous years, the league dished out a total of $50,000 to each winning player of the annual NBA All-Star Game. This year, it seems like the higher-ups are in a more giving mood.
All-Stars rejoice because it was earlier announced that the winning team will increase their purse two-fold, meaning each winning player will bring home $100,000 – good enough to cover the cost of four minor fine. The losing team players will cash out $25,000, the same sum as in previous years.
“That’ll certainly make it more interesting,” All-Star guard Kyrie Irving commented on the spike in victory money. . “That’s a huge difference.”
The NBA will host its All-Star Game on February 18, live from Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California.
“I think it will help, for sure. That’s a lot of money,” Klay Thompson told ESPN. “It will definitely help.”
Will it be Team LeBron or Team Steph to take home the prize?
