New York Knicks Trade Hernangomez to Hornets for O’Bryant, Picks

The New York Knicks are in the news again!

Just hours after receiving devastating news on their franchise big man Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks turned around and traded young center Willy Hernangomez to the Charlotte Hornets. In return, the Knicks will receive Johnny O’Bryant along with a pair of second-round picks.

In a deal first reported by Yahoo! Sports, Hernangomez lost a majority of his playing time after an impressive rookie campaign to the likes of Enes Kanter and Kyle O’Quinn.

In just 26-contests with the Knicks this season, Hernangomez has averaged 4.3-points and 2.8-rebounds per game, while only playing nine minutes a game. The Spanish big man has expressed interest in being moved in hopes of finding a bigger role and a fresh start elsewhere.
