NBA on TNT to Launches Virtual Reality App Experience for Fans
If you aren’t already excited for NBA All-Star Weekend, the NBA on TNT has decided to spice things up even further.
This year’s fan experience will be provided in fully immersive virtual reality. NBA fans will be able to enjoy everything from the NBA Rising Stars competition, to State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, to the NBA All-Star Game all in VR! Not only will this stick around for this weekend only, live VR coverage will continue throughout the season for marque NBA on TNT games through the 2018 Conference Finals.
Fans will have the opportunity to come closer to the game than ever before and that’s pretty cool if I could say so myself!
Partnered with Intel, Turner Sports announced the launch of the NBA on TNT VR app, which will allow fans to get up close and personal to all NBA action.
Each game will feature a minimum of four camera angles, which fans have all the power to play around with. Viewers will be able to be transported courtside to watch games from the best possible seats, or up in the stands if they prefer a bird’s eye view.
Regular season games that will feature Live VR this season are as follows:
Thursday, Feb. 22: LA Clippers @ Golden State, 10:30 p.m.
Thursday, Mar. 1: Philadelphia @ Cleveland, 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, Mar. 8: Boston @ Minnesota, 8:00 p.m.
