Defense the Difference-Maker as Team LeBron Wins All-Star Game
From the interesting roster introductions, to Fergie’s rather odd national anthem rendition, to the game itself, the 2018 NBA All-Star Game simply just had something different in store for fans.
The final scores were no where near 200-points apiece, as this year, the NBA All-Star Game had defense – competition even. The players down-right wanted it and down the stretch, both teams dug in defensively, with their eyes set on winning the contest. As the final buzzer sounded, it was a key defensive stop that enabled Team LeBron to come away with the win.
Able to trap DeMar DeRozan in a corner, Team Steph did not receive an optimal chance to tie the game in the final seconds to send the contest to overtime.
Leading the charge for Team LeBron was none other than LeBron James, who came away with the MVP honours after putting together a 29-point, 10-rebound, and eight-assist performance. Kevin Durant added 19-points of his own in the winning effort for the Dwane Casey-coached All-Star squad.
Damian Lillard and DeMar DeRozan paced Team Steph, netting 21-points a piece.
