Rose Signs with Minnesota Timberwolves for the Rest of the Season
The Chicago Bulls are back!
Only on the Minnesota Timberwolves…
That’s right! After numerous reports suggested that the former League MVP Derrick Rose was getting limited interested, the point guard reportedly signed a contract with the Wolves to remain with the team for the remainder of the season. In a reunion of sorts, Tom Thibodeau, Jimmy Butler, and Taj Gibson will welcome back their former Chicago Bulls star with open arms.
After starting the season off with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rose struggled through a plethora of leg injuries to consistently stay on the court. At the deadline, he was moved to Utah where the Jazz immediately waived the former star.
The 29-year old Rose has played in only 16-games this season for the Cavs and averaged 9.8-points per game. While much of the explosiveness is gone from his game, if Rose can potentially stay healthy, he would add necessary scoring depth in the absence of Butler.
“I’m not a selfish player,” Rose said. “I’m not here for stats or anything like that. I just want to win, and help this team and franchise win.”
There’s not a single person who wants to see Rose fail and hurt himself again. Let’s hope to see Rose ride out the remainder of the season healthy!
