Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Purchases Stake in Bucks
Earlier in the week it was announced that one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL has made a power move on the business side of things.
Green Bay Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers has purchased a minority stake in the Milwaukee Bucks.
As the Bucks stormed their way back into their first round series against the Boston Celtics with a commanding Game 3 win, Rodgers was introduced to the home crowd amid the blowout, while sitting courtside alongside girlfriend and NASCAR racer Danica Patrick, as well as Bucks co-owner Wes Edens.
“I have proudly called Wisconsin my home for the past 13 years, and I am thankful for the friendships and the opportunities I have been given to live and play here,” Rodgers said in a statement released by the team. “I am excited and honored to deepen my connection to the region by joining Wes Edens, Marc Lasry, Jamie Dinan, Mike Fascitelli and the ownership group of the Milwaukee Bucks. As a huge fan of the NBA and the sport of basketball, this is a dream come true for me, and I look forward to furthering my affinity for Wisconsin sports as a minority owner in a team I love and support.”
With this big purchase, Rodgers has become the first active NFL player to own a stake in a major sports franchise in the same market in which he plays in.
The Bucks look to go 2-0 in the Rodgers era as they seek to nod up the series at 2-2 this afternoon.
