NBA Youth Movement's Music

Who do Some of the NBA’s Youngest Stars Listen to on the Daily

Prior to the start of the NBA season, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball made a confident yet bizarre claim that Migos are better than the rap legend.

Of course, since this statement came out of the mouth of a Ball brother, it was met with heavy criticism, but what we are really witnessing is the birth of the NBA’s youth movement. The League now has a plethora of young and talented kids who bring in a new attitude, a new swagger, and a new culture. The music they listen to personifies it.

So what is the NBA’s youth movement bumpin’ on the daily? What sort of music will you find in their most listened to playlists?

Lonzo Ball – Migos

“Y’all outdated, man. Don’t nobody listen to Nas anymore… Real hip-hop is Migos, Future” the Ball said earlier in the season. “”I like 4:44. It’s a good album. JAY-Z’s a great, great artist. You know, his work speaks for itself, but if it’s my opinion, you know, in today’s world, I feel like 21 Savage’s

is bumping more. So I just play that right now.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Kendrick Lamar

“I got loyalty inside my DNA,” tweeted The Greek Freak earlier in the season when questions surrounding his desire to remain long term in Milwaukee.

Karl-Anthony Towns – J. Cole

“I think J. Cole had the dopest album of the year. His music makes me think,” Said the Wolves star of the rapper.

Ben Simmons – Meek Mills

Two Philly guys in one music video, the Process is starting to take off in the City of Brotherly Love.
