There is a lot that we don’t know about in Golden State
Despite the Warriors’ latest triumph, this season hasn’t been all rosy in the Bay area.
According to some of Golden State’s players, the team has been racked by internal problems all year.
After the Warriors’ title-clinching victory in Game 4, David West was quoted by ESPN as saying there was “a lot going on behind the scenes that people will be shocked about when it comes out.”
“There were some things internally,” the veteran big man continued. “When you guys find out about that s—. you’ll trip… It’s a testament to the type of people these guys are, how tied we were as a group and then we were able to win it.”
Shaun Livingston also hinted at turmoil.
“Shout out to (head coach) Steve Kerr for dealing with all our B.S, this year,” said the Warriors guard.
Draymond Green confirmed that these mysterious issues made this championship the most difficult to win of the team’s three.
“One hundred percent. It is not even close.”
“It is because of what we had to go through,” explained Green. “We went through so much adversity. Mentally. Injuries. Complacency. You name it. We went through it.”
From the 2004 Shaq-Kobe Lakers, to the doomed Lebron-Kyrie alliance, there have been no shortage of contenders throughout history to fall apart from within. Whatever the Warriors dealt with this season, they overcame it, adding a new layer of accomplishment to their growing legacy.
