Kerr to Stay with the Warriors

Extension Reportedly One of the Largest for a Coach

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr has agreed to an extension that will make him one of the NBA’s highest-paid head coaches, according to ESPN.

The Warriors signed Kerr to a 5-year deal in 2014. Since then he has accumulated a 265-63 regular-season record, and spearheaded Golden State to 4 Finals appearances and 3 NBA championships, adding to the 5 titles he won as a player.

Now 52, Kerr has missed significant time over the past few years with painful complications stemming from back surgery. However, this deal puts to rest any fears that his health problems could bring about his permanent exit from coaching, at least for now.
