Lithuanian Jasikevicius Getting Looks for Raptors Coaching Vacancy
As the Toronto Raptors head coaching search continues, Masai Ujiri may be dipping into the international market.
Raptor big man Jonas Valanciunas will be happy to know that the Raptors are now reportedly looking at Lithuanian Sarunas Jasikevicius, a former NBA player who now coaches Zalgris in Lithuania. Since January 2016, the coach has compiled a 38-40 record, including a 22-14 mark this season.
Toronto President Masai Ujiri interviewed Zalgris (Lithuania) coach Sarunas Jasikevicius for the Raptors head coaching job, league sources tell ESPN. Jasikevicius is a young EuroLeague coaching star and former NBA player.

The Lithuanian-born coach went to school at the University of Maryland and had an impressive international career before signing with the Indiana Pacers in 2005 as a free agent.
With free agency just under a month away, the clock is ticking for the Raptors to bring a coach and begin establishing a new vision for a Raptors team that has struggled to get over the hump in the playoffs.
