Staying Away

Warriors, Cavs Not Visiting White House

LeBron, Curry Confirm Teams Have no Interest in White House Visit

After word of the Philadelphia Eagles-White House fiasco reached The King, LeBron James kept his answer as simple as can be – neither winning team has any interest in visiting Donald Trump as part of their championship tour.

Early in the week, Trump announced that he has taken back his invite from the Super Bowl champion Eagles who apparently chose to stay away from the White House all together. James believed the Eagles made the correct decision, voicing that no NBA team will visit the White House while Trump remains in office.

“I’m not surprised. It’s typical of [Trump],” James said ahead of Wednesday’s Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors. “I mean, I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite anyway. So it won’t be Golden State or Cleveland going.”

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant echoed James’ opinion.

Durant added, “What else do you expect Trump to do? When somebody says they don’t want to come to the White House, he disinvites them so the photo op don’t look bad. We get it at this point.”

The NBA finalists have spoken.
