Big Shot from Alkins Helps Raps Move to Summer League Quarter Finals
After an 0-3 start, the Toronto Raptors are cruising into the Quarter Finals of the NBA Summer League playoffs.
While OG Anunoby has been one of this summer’s best performers, the Raptors received a huge spark from undrafted rookie Rawle Alkins who exploded for 25-points, including five in the overtime period. No points bigger than his huge three-pointer in the dying seconds of overtime, leading the Raptors to an 87-84 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
“Yeah, man. I didn’t want to go home,” Said the Arizona product who also grabbed 11-rebounds in the winning effort. “It’s not over yet. We were 0-3, but now it’s playoff basketball.”
Malachi Richardson poured in 14-points of his own, while Marquis Teague added 10-points off the bench.
The Raptors will now play the Cleveland Cavaliers on World Cup Sunday at 6:00 PM EST.
