Former Raptor Charles Oakley Arrested In Las Vegas for Gambling Fraud
Since the drama of Madison Square Garden unfolded, things have been relatively quiet on the Charles Oakley front.
The former NBA big man who has spent some time with the New York Knicks and the Toronto Raptors has always been known for his fiery personality and often aggressive nature. A couple years ago, he was escorted out of The Garden due to being a public disturbance and almost immediately received support from the NBA community.
Now, it seems like Oakley has gotten in trouble again. Casino regulators in Las Vegas have accused Oakley of gambling fraud. He was arrested on Sunday at the Cosmopolitan casino-resort on suspicion of committing or attempting to commit a fraudulent act in a gaming establishment. According to reports, Oakley was essentially suspected of “adding to or reducing his wager” on a game in the aftermath of the outcome.
The felony count can lead to between one and six years in prison in addition to a $10,000 fine.
