Not Enough for the Raps

Poor Shooting Dooms Toronto to Quarter-Final Loss in Summer League

The Toronto Raptors just can’t beat the Cleveland Cavaliers.

All jokes aside, the Raptors’ Summer League run came to an end Sunday, with Toronto losing 82-68 to the Cavs.

After shooting 43% from three-point range over the tourney’s first two games, the scorching marksmanship that has carried the Raps until this point dried up, with the team shooting 30.9% percent, and 8-40 from outside.

Live by the three, die by the three.

No world-beaters themselves, Cleveland’s summer squad was led by Bronx native John Holland‘s 23 points, while first-round pick Collin Sexton impressed with 18 points and 6 assists.

Canadian Chris Boucher led Toronto with 18 points off the bench, adding 8 rebounds and 4 blocks before fouling out.

OG Anunoby was held out of his team’s final Summer League game, with Raptors head coach Nick Nurse preferring to rest his team’s rising sophomore.
