Lamar Odom Opens Up About Drug Abuse on Hart’s ‘Cold as Balls’
Lamar Odom is just happy to be alive.
After allowing his life to spiral out of control nearly three years ago back in 2015, the former NBA star was found unconscious at a brothel after overdosing on drugs, which ultimately landed him in a coma. Struggling with drug addiction for a number of years following the completion of his NBA career, Odom opened up about his dark past in an appearance on Kevin Hart’s Season 2 premiere of Cold as Balls.

Admitting to being clean now and even exploring the possibility of playing basketball again, Odom touched on his time in the hospital desperately holding onto life by a thread.
Hart: Is Lamar Odom fully over the addiction side?
Hart: How does that make you feel?
Odom: Great, bro. Everyday I’m alive.
Odom: It’s a good day to be alive, considering the alternative.
Hart: 100 percent. Do you now realize how close to death you were?
Odom: Yeah, all my doctors that see me say I’m a walking miracle. I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks when I was in a coma.
Hart: …. God damn.
Thankfully, Odom is alive and well!
