NCAA to Allow Elite Prospects to Hire Agent

NCAA to Allow “Elite” High School and College Players to Hire Agents

A big and critical new rule will be passed by the NCAA.

As per reports, the NCAA will allow “elite” high school and college prospects to hire agents – a proposal which states that USA Basketball will play a vital role in the determining which athlete is labeled as “elite”.

This move comes at an interesting point as Adam Silver has announced that the NBA plans on abolishing the one-and-done rule within the next five years, which would allow high school prospect to bypass college and enter the NBA Draft.

College basketball will undergo another rule change as well, which will allow draft eligible basketball players to return to school if they are not selected. While a return to school would be “pending future action from the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association,” it will take much of the pressure off the athlete throughout the entire draft process.

The rule will grant athletes more leverage as now they will not be forced to make a decision pre-draft on whether or not they wish to return to school.
