Warrior for Life

Stephen Curry Hopes to Remain in the Bay: “This is Home”

Stephen Curry doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

When asked on Wednesday’s Bill Simmons Podcast if he wanted to be a Warrior for life, the 2-time MVP replied, “For sure I do. This is home. This is where I want to be, for obvious reasons.”

“I love the Bay Area, man,” Curry said. “The only reason I go home now (to Charlotte) is if my sister’s getting married or to go play the Hornets for that one game, so I haven’t really been back much. I haven’t put my mind there.”

Golden State’s point guard is coming off another superb season, in which he averaged 26 PPG, 6 RPG and 5 APG, with a league-high 67.5 True Shooting Percentage. In the NBA Finals, the Warriors swept Cleveland en route to their 3rd championship in 4 years, and are the odds-on favourite to repeat in 2018-19. Obviously, Steph feels no need to leave such a favourable situation.

At 30, Curry doesn’t intend to stop playing in the near future either.

“You never know what it will take to keep your career going,” Curry said, “but I think I can figure it out”.
