San Antonio Spurs to Retire Manu Ginobili’s Number in March
It won’t take long for the San Antonio Spurs to honour Manu Ginobili.
The Argentinian superstar spent his entire NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs, after being selected with the 57th overall pick in the 1999 Draft. He would go onto appear in 1,057 career games with the Spurs in which he averaged 13.3-points per game. A four-time NBA champ, Ginobili won the 2007-08 Sixth Man of the Year award.
On March 28, 2019, the Spurs will honour Ginobili by retiring his number 20.
He will become the ninth player in the history of the franchise to have his Jersey raised to the rafters. His number will be alongside Bruce Bowen (12), Tim Duncan (21), Sean Elliott (32), George Gervin (44), Avery Johnson (6), Johnny Moore (00), David Robinson (50), and James Silas (13).
The Spurs will play host to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Ginobili’s special night.
