NBA Bans Current Version of Kanye West’s Yeezy Basketball Sneaker
It seems like things could have gone a tad better on Kanye West’s first go-around in the basketball sneaker business.
The superstar rapper has seamlessly entered the fashion industry, with his Yeezy brand shoes growing in popularity annually. That being said, West’s most recent venture was to release the brand’s first ever basketball sneaker, which has apparently come with a few minor technicalities. As the sneaker has a gleaming, reflective heel, there is now a risk that the NBA will ban the shoe from the League.

Although the League has not received a formal review of the new Yeezy shoes, the version that appeared online and shared by Ye himself would not be permitted on an NBA court. Carmelo Anthony faced a similar dilemma when his Jordan M10 signature sneaker debuted with a metallic chrome heel.
As per ESPN, the Yeezy sneakers would violate the league’s footwear colour restrictions, and moreover would create a distraction for both in-arena spectators and television viewers.
It seems like it’s back to the drawing board for Yeezy.
