LaMelo Ball to Play in the States Again, Ba at Spire Institute in Ohio
After a year abroad, LaMelo Ball will make his ‘long’ awaited return to the United States
The youngest of the three Ball brothers spent a year in Lithuania playing professionally for BC Vytautas last season. He will now enroll at the Spire Institute in Ohio. As Spire is a prep school and due to the fact that Ball was not compensated for his play in Lithuania and the JBA, he will be eligible in playing basketball for the varsity team.
“I’m excited to return to school and rejoin my class on the court for my senior year,” Ball said. “Playing in international competition was a great experience. I learned and matured so much. I appreciated the JBA experience my dad provided for me. I think it helped my development. I can’t wait to play with my peers.”
He will be coached by Jermaine Jackson, one of the biggest names on the amateur high school circuits. Jackson is known for training the likes of Brandon Ingram, currently a Los Angeles Lakers teammate of LaMelo’s brother, Lonzo.
