Here at BALLnROLL, there is nothing more satisfying than making a kid smile, helping a family bond, making a difference in the world.
BALLnROLL has joined a few organizations to make these possible. Chai Life Line Canada is one of them. Chai Life Line is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Canadian children suffering from serious illness, as well as their family members.
BALLnROLL has helped raise money, offer basketball tickets and arrange meet and greets with players and executives. You wouldn’t believe what a simple NBA game can do to help a kid forget his illness, even if it’s just for a few hours.
So join our team in relieving, even a tiny bit of the burden that these kids and their families go through. Together we can make a difference.
Sincerely yours:
BALLnROLL Staff
All four Toronto teams meet for a good cause.
As two Toronto Maple Leafs walk onto the carpet, one leans in and says to the other, "Don't forget to shake hands." They don’t, smiling and gregarious as ever.
The Red Raptor bumps shoulders as he sweeps onto the carpet in front of the Team Up kids. He has to: the place is packed, and excitement is mounting in the air. It's the One4One event at the Real Sports Bar & Grill.
Monday marked the momentous occasion that brought the four Toronto teams together: the Raptors, the Leafs, the Marlies and Toronto FC together in one room. Tickets sold for $275, with proceeds going to held the Team Up Foundation.
Celebs donate shoes for a good cause.
Shoes, shoes, shoes. From the famed red-soled Louboutains, to sky-high Brian Atwoods, to embellished Jimmy Choos, nothing quite put a smile on a girl's face like a pristine pair of sexy heels.
Make that a pair of celebrity shoes and you've got yourself not just a smile, but a guaranteed ear-to-ear grin! Enter Soles4Souls, a charity that's allowing the average shoe-drooling fashionista to purchase a pair of designer shoes fresh off the tootsies of the stars.
The charity, established for over a year now, was brought to life when its founder, Wayne Esley, was inspired to help those in need after the tragic tsunami hit Southeast Asia. Since then, organizations from international retailers to local churches the world over have sprung to aid and have donated more than 14 million pairs of shoes to those in need.
Toronto Raptors Red Party! Here at BALLnROLL, we consider it our job to get into the action and report back to you, our faithful readers, as to what the world of basketball is like behind the scenes and offer up consistent and thorough access into the lives of your favorite players. On March 3, 2010 this very commitment brought us to the Toronto Raptors Red Party as presented by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment in partnership with Rogers, where the stars of the court, team management and press had the opportunity to mix and mingle on an unforgettably exciting and lavish evening. The Red Party was organized in support of the MLSE Team Up Foundation which assists disadvantaged youth in priority neighborhoods by giving, building, teaching and growing, and included several unforgettable interactions with coaches, players and fans alike, as well as an amazing surprise performance by Toronto born-and-bred rap superstar (and Degrassi alum!) Drake.
Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian have been doing a lot of things as a couple. They’re releasing a new fragrance together, and they’ve recently been doing a lot to support Lamar's chosen charity, "Cathy's Kids".On February 1st, Lamar Odom's site announced that the couple had recently launched another eBay auction on their eBay account. 15% of the proceeds from the auction will go to the charity, which seeks to give underprivileged youth "educational tools such as books and computers, mentoring and tutoring services and recreational opportunities".
