The Red Party was organized in support of the MLSE Team Up Foundation which assists disadvantaged youth in priority neighborhoods by giving, building, teaching and growing, and included several unforgettable interactions with coaches, players and fans alike, as well as an amazing surprise performance by Toronto born-and-bred rap superstar (and Degrassi alum!) Drake.
According to Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president and chief executive officer of the MLSE, “the Raptors Red Party highlights the team’s role as leaders in our community and how their work combined with donor support changes lives through the power and spirit of sport” which, as far as BALLnROLL is concerned, is as great of a reason as any to organize a party at which VIP tables go for upwards of $5000. Price tag aside, Muzik was veritably packed with everyone dressed to the nines, a magnificent meal and reception, and chatter abounding about the various charitable projects that the MLSE will be involved in the forthcoming months. And what could be better than a night of basketball and socializing in the name of helping out our community? We had a blast, acquired some great photos and interviews with your favorite players and industry insiders, and are looking forward to increased involvement with the MLSE’s Team Up Foundation in the future.
