Janurary 10th marked the date of the exclusive Red Party event, part of the Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Team Up Foundation’s efforts to raise money to develop sports programs for youths. The event was held at Muzik, a first-class club in Toronto. Tickets were $275, and VIP tables were $5000. Among those sponsoring the event were Rogers and Millers Genuine Draft.

While Wristspect, Lancelot and Tilt lit up the night with music, a mentalist went through the crowd entertaining, and there was an extensive silent auction held, with proceeds going to the Team-Up foundation.
Among the objects up for auction were gold Movado watches, signed basketballs, signed Raptors and Maple Leafs jerseys, a night out with Jerome Williams, and an All-Star Experience, just to name a few. Svensson estimated that the event would raise about $250 000.
There were white hardhats sitting on the chairs at the VIP booths. Referring to these, event manager Jillian Svensson said “The [hardhats] represent our work in refurbishment, courts, rinks, and pitches in our community”.
The hardhats were also on sale to the general attendants. Jerome Williams and Amir Johnson were busy signing them, and so were others among the celebrity guests, which included the likes of Andrea Bargnani, Sonny Weems, Jay Triano and the rest of the Toronto Raptors.
Everyone was looking great, with standout style provided by DeMar DeRozan, showing up in a killer two-button suite, set against a black shirt and a red and black tie. Only to be out done by his lovely lady.

The vibe of the party was great and the proceeds are going to an amazing cause. The Raptors and MLSE Entertainment should consider this party a success.
