The answer is yes. On the 27th, details became firmer. Turns out both rumours were right. A New York Post article came out with it. Stoudemire is partnering with Rachel Roy, the line will launch this fall, and the collection will first be for men. A women’s line is next in the works.
Marc Beckman, the president of the agency who brokered the partnership between Stoudemire and Roy, was quoted as saying, ““Our goal is to build on his style and swagger in an authentic and believable way. The early product range shall consist of men’s fragrance, made-to-measure tailored suits, and sportswear.”
It was a long road to this. Originally, the Internet was lighting up with rumours on fashion blogs that were maddeningly vague. On the 22nd of December, Fashion Bomb Daily said that nothing had been confirmed.
Confusingly, the very same day the New York Post’s article about the partnership used more concrete language: “the Knicks’ power forward is launching a clothing line with designer Rachel Roy”. The article referred to Stoudemire’s love of fashion.

Meanwhile, rumours continued to suggest that the clothing line would be focused on women and some rumoured that it would focus on men. Now we know it’ll be both.
It’s an exciting development. We’ll be sure to cover the clothing line when it launches.
