Leave your hoodies at home, because there are some great upcoming sweater styles that can be dressy or worn casually with a stylish edge.
Layering is key this season. with an assortment of thinner knits worn over collared shirts and under tweed jackets or camel coats. The neo prep trend has made the shirt, tie/sweater combination a staple for casual, everyday-wear. Match it with a narrow, belted pant, bright sneakers or loafers—this has become the go-to look of the season.
Colour is important, too. This season, if the sweater doesn’t come with colour, it’s a turtleneck.

The nautical look, with a horizontal chest stripe, was common this summer and remains common this season for the preppy collegiate look. This time, however, the stripes are much thicker and so is the fabric.

Thicker cable turtlenecks are also a trend. These ones are bulky enough to wear on their own and will keep you snug and comfy for those cold winter months. Try a bright orange or blue worn with a narrow, belted khaki pant.
