Don’t waste your money out there this July. There’s plenty of fresh streetwear stuff out there, and those into haute couture will know that the fall lookbooks are dropping – but for those of us in real life, it’s time to pick up stuff for one of the hottest seasons on record. This is what we think is worth checking out this season.
Air Jordan comes back after a middling June with a strong July, dropping these 4’s in a fire red and cement “Toro Bravo” colourway. Absolutely essential to your July shopping list, call your local streetwear shop early to see if and when they get their shipment. There has never been a more appropriate use of the words: “Straight fire, must cop.” Street date is July 13th. If you can’t wait though, check out what we thought was worth standing in line for this June, in our June 2013 Sneaker Update.
It’s heating up out there. While some of you might have been braving the weather in denim, be smart about it and pick up a pair of nice khaki shorts. But don’t think we’re telling you to go into dad country. No, we’re talking about the new khaki that’s on the streets right now. 10.deep offers some stylish picks for the summer, including this pair of trim shorts, with a clean, uncomplicated design. Available at Deadstock.
If you’re going for a simple pair of shorts, make things pop up top with this fresh polo from French brand Band of Outsiders. The cotton helps you from getting all sweaty in the hot air, and the semi-nautical white-and-blue with red trim pattern is absolutely on point for the season. Oh, and if you’re wondering about popping the collar – only do it if you’re starting to get a bad tan on the back of your neck. That’s what the collar’s there for. Check it out at gravitypope.
The cold sneaks up on you late at night like you would not believe. Shivering outside the club while trying to finish a smoke sucks in any season, doubly so in winter. Avoid catching a summer-flu with a lightweight, yet warm hoodie, like this one from Reigning Champ. The olive colouring gives it a bit of a military-esque vibe, and the poly construction keeps it from weighing you down when it gets warmer. Memes has it.
Nothing ruins your look faster than squinting into the sun like a sucker on a hot day. RETROSUPERFUTURE’s got a simple pair of wayfarer-style shades that channel a bit of that 1980’s Cazale style feel, but without any of the camp that real Cazales bring. You’ll have to hit up Wish to pickup.
