It’s finally September. For many of the kiddies, it means back to school, while for many ballers out there it means back onto the hardwood to get in shape for preseason. The weather continues to fall, and while it’s not that nice late fall temperature we love (the one that makes varsity jackets and selvedge jeans essentials), it’s a nice season to look your best in. Here’s some of the best we can see.
J. Crew Ludlow sportcoat
We know some of our younger readers are heading back to college classes this September, and are no doubt looking for a way to pull off that mature, classic look. J. Crew has got that look down on lock. This Ludlow sportcoat in English wool, with a herringbone pattern is an absolutely classic look for those guys looking to get that Ivy style look down. (JCrew.com, $384)
The Perfect Oxford by Gant by Michael Bastian
You can’t wear a t-shirt under that sportcoat. That’s just basic. So you’re left with little option other than this simple striped button down shirt by Gant by Michael Bastian. It’s an unquestionably classic look. During the day, roll up the sleeves, and leave the sportcoat in the car. And when the evening comes, roll those sleeves down and throw on the sportcoat for that cool professor look. (Gant.com, $165)
Bedwin Original Fit Denim Pants
It’s not cold and it’s not hot. So don’t bother overthinking what you’re wearing. A basic pair of jeans, like these from Bedwin do just fine. Classic workwear inspired stuff, they’re made in Japan of top quality selvedge denim and are some of the freshest pairs of denim we’ve seen all year. (HavenShop.com, $156)
Bass Larson Loafers
Nah, we’re not clowning you. To match the sportcoat, we’ve gone out of the sneaker collection, and instead gone for a classic penny loafer. Simple, understated, and classy – just like you. When they’re new, the leather is going to be hard as wood, but wear them in until it’s butter soft to get a timeless preppy look. (GHBass.com, $108)
Nike Air Foamposite One “Thermal Map”
Ahh, you didn’t think we could really go a month without at least giving you a drop on some heat for your feet, did you? I mean, can we get a heat check in here? Because these Foamposites are red hot. Though they’re obviously inspired by August’s Weatherman doppler-effect Air Foamposite One, these ones are red hot enough for you to justify another pair of foams. Unbelievable. Everyone, slow clap for Nike. Slow clap? Slow clap.
