Drake recently announced his partnership with Nike’s Jordan Brand, the eponymous footwear house responsible for the famous Air Jordan sneaker, during a tour stop in Portland, Ore.

The news came on the heels of Kanye West letting the world know he’d be jumping ship for presumably more agreeable waters over at Adidas, citing “creative differences” between him and MJ’s label, where he had previously helped design the much-loved Air Yeezy series. More specifically, West allegedly complained that Nike wouldn’t give him royalties unless he was an athlete, whereas Adidas would. It probably helps then that Adidas promised Kanye a $10 million cheque to bring them his vision, but who’s counting?

Before the announcement even truly registered on social media channels, Drake had already posted two upcoming sneaker designs on his Instagram account: a pair of Jordan 10s, and another pair of Jordan 12s. Both sport the Air Jordan Jumpman logo alongside Drake’s October’s Very Own (OVO) moniker.
The Jordan 10 “Stingray” model, as seen in the photos, features the 10’s signature smooth curves in tonal black and white versions, lacking any overwrought adornment—glittery soles notwithstanding, of course.

The second pair of Jordan 12 “Stingrays” add a bit more flash with tribal tiger print sole detailing and gold cuff eyelets on the white model. The white model also incorporates two distinctly-textured panels for a mixed-medium leather look, while the black model appear to be made with suede-like material.
We’re looking forward to seeing what else OVO x Air Jordan has in store for us.
