The 2013-14 Playoff’s Best Style Moments

Eight teams enter, and only the best head to Conference Finals. The NBA playoffs are well underway as of this past weekend, and players are bringing their A games—both on and off the court. We’ve scoped out some of the best-dressed players of Game 1, and we’ll continue bringing you more fashion moments of the playoffs until they’re decided. Keep checking back for more.

Damian Lillard rocks the air tie
The Trail Blazers point guard went for a buttoned-up look before heading off to battle the Houston Rockets. He wore a silver shirt and a matching pocket square in the front pocket of his tailored two-button blazer. Keeping it a little loose before the matchup, he left a little bit of break in his pants, and kicked ‘em with a pair of black-toe brown leather Oxfords.

Kevin Durant goes takes a page out of Westbrook’s book
OKC’s point guard Russell Westbrook and small forward Kevin Durant made a bit of a statement during question period after facing the Memphis Grizzlies. Westbrook broke from his usual flash, wearing a bright red T-shirt instead. KD apparently felt the need to make up for this imbalance in the universe, wearing a geometric tribal print short-sleeve button-up.

James Harden on his day off
The playoffs may take a break for Easter Day, but James Harden’s Instagram account doesn’t. The Houston shooting guard put on his Sunday best in between games facing the Portland Trail Blazers, including a bib-front, all-white button-up and some clean, off-white trousers (with tonal details of their own over the knees). Piety looks good.

Serge Ibaka goes all-black
Layering black-on-black is a bit of a trend, according to NBA style insiders. Here, Serge Ibaka kills it with pieces from Maison Martin Margiela, Giovanni Cavagna and (of course) Adidas ahead of OKC’s game against the Grizzlies. Wearing a leather-front vest, Ibaka uses texture to create the appearance of extra layers.

Steph Curry
We’re on the fence on this one, but Steph Curry certainly chose to shine bright as he entered the Warriors’ first game against the Clippers. We say Curry keeps the jacket and tosses the rest.
