COP THIS: Timex’ New Smartwatch For Athletes Doesn’t Need A Phone

Timex has unveiled a smartwatch that you’d have thought already existed, and it’s perfect for athletes of all stripes. Their new IronMan One GPS+ doesn’t need a phone to connect to. Ever. The watch has built-in 3G and wireless connectivity, and can communicate by using email. If you want to listen to music, it has 4GB of on-board memory, too. It tracks data useful to athletes, including speed, distance and pace, but most interesting is the Find Me Mode feature that sends out an SOS message when active. You know, in case you find yourself playing pick-up in the Rockies when tragedy strikes.

The watch is currently on pre-order via Timex, AT&T and some sports and electronics stores.
