This Fall’s Most Anticipated Sneaker Drops


Some of the biggest drops of the year are slated for the coming months, so take a look at this list and plan ahead to camp outside your favourite shop. It’s not fall. It’s sneaker season.

Adidas D Rose 5 Boost
Release date: Oct. 23, 2014
The upcoming D Rose 5s will be the first Adidas basketball shoe to feature Boost technology, which makes use of thousands of capsules in the outsole to enhance the energy return of each step. The new sole also makes them extra comfortable during performance, offering extra cushioning in the heels for easy landings. Derrick Rose himself has said that this is his favourite collab with Adidas yet, so we’re heeding his advice and lining up for when they drop later this year.

Nike Kobe 9 EM Premium (PRM)
Release date: Sept. 5, 2014
Fans of Kobe can rejoice with yet more releases slated for this fall, including three premium, team-oriented colourways of the Kobe 9 EM style. Gym red, gorge green and game royal are all coming simultaneously on Sept. 5, 2014, each featuring speckling along the midsole that’s echoed in the laces. A supporting version of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low in university red is expected to release Sept. 13, 2014.

Nike Air Jordan XX9
Release date: TBA/September 2014
The next much-anticipated iteration of the classic Jordan is dropping shortly next month to coincide relatively closely to the start of team ball. It featured Nike’s innovative Flight Plate tech and a performance woven upper for lightweight performance. The structure and fit have been reshaped to provide a sock-like fit inside to keep the athlete’s foot snugly in place. Announced earlier this year, the 29th signature Air Jordan release is anticipate in two colourways: a black/white release, plus a black, team orange and dark grey version.

Nike Air Flight Huarache Premium (PRM)
Release date: Sept. 5, 2014
After its August lineup was well-received, Nike will re-up its increasingly popular retro-style silhouette for the Nike Air Flight Huarache (and its cousin, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache) with this release scheduled in September. Both models are to be featured in black and challenge red colourways that are sure to set sneakerheads off.

Adidas Originals ZX Flux Ballistic Woven
Release date: Sept. 1, 2014
Hot off its still uncertain success with the #miZXFLUX app, Adidas is adding even more variety to its newest silhouette by giving it a premium makeover with an innovative upper. The three monochromatic colourways in black, navy and metallic grey feature a tough woven nylon upper that gives them shine, comfort and style contrasting their pure white outsoles.
